About us
We live with our children in a farm in the municipality Hardenberg – Overijssel, about fifteen minutes by car from the German border. Besides our six Kune Kunes, we also have two Icelandic horses, cats and chickens. We once started with two miniature pigs, while –quite unwisely- we knew nothing about pigs. Our two miniature pigs never gave up hope as we learned how to care for them along the way.
At some point, by internet, we came into contact with Eddy and Sabien van Dijk of ‘t Swienehoes. After we had seen their beautiful Kune Kunes, we knew for certain, we also wanted such wonderful pigs. We imported all our Kune Kunes from the UK.

Why pigs?
Well, firstly because they are such fun, cheerful, social and communicative animals!
Every child knows stories about pigs, can draw a pig, knows the sound that they make. While most of these kids have never actually seen a pig in real life before. In our society, every single part of the pig is used. From meat and bones –gelatine for candy- to skin and hair. Yet somehow, contrary to other farm animals, pigs seem invisible in our lives.
We consider it important that pigs should also be visible in our landscape, that people come into contact with pigs, and that the old, less common breeds of pigs are maintained.
'I like pigs. Dogs look up to us, cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals'.
