Our sows

Kune Kunes have a striking appearance; they are rather small pigs with short legs, a very compact and round body and a short, slightly raised nose. Special to this breed are the piri piri (wattles) on the lower jaw. Although not all Kune Kunes have piri piri (some may fall off in old age). Kune Kunes come in many beautiful colours, such as ginger, ginger/black, black, black/white, brown and cream. In general, the animals are harlequin, although occasionally animals are born with only one colour (sometimes even from multi-coloured parents). Kune Kunes are friendly, sweet-natured and quiet. As a breeder in the UK once told us, “they haven’t got a bad bone in their body”. These pigs enjoy the company of humans and you can teach them all kinds of things. The gentle nature of the Kune Kune and their small size makes them particularly suitable for families with children.
